How to Check Which Return Policy Applies When the Policy Has Changed

A practical way to compare the terms shown when an order was placed with SEWARD’s current return policy, without assuming that either version automatically controls.

Start with the purchase record

When the return policy available at the time of purchase differs from the policy shown when you request help, preserve both versions and establish the relevant dates. Gather the order confirmation, checkout email, invoice, delivery date, product page, and any saved copy or screenshot of the terms presented during checkout. Also record when you first noticed and reported the issue. These materials help distinguish the conditions associated with the transaction from later website updates.

Compare the policies precisely

Note the update date, reporting window, eligible reasons, item-condition requirements, required accessories or packaging, return-shipping rules, and available remedies in each version. Do not assume that every difference affects your case. For example, a changed reporting period matters differently from a revised support address. SEWARD’s current Terms of Service says that posted changes do not retroactively remove rights attached to an earlier purchase, but the result for a particular order still depends on its records, applicable terms, and governing law.

Ask the actual seller for a written answer

Send the seller your order number, purchase and delivery dates, destination, reason for the request, and copies of the conflicting policy language. Ask which dated version the seller considers applicable and why. If SEWARD was the seller, its Contact Us page directs customers with order inquiries to include the order number and checkout email and to make contact before returning an item. Keep the response with the original order correspondence.

Do not decide legal priority by assumption

A current webpage does not by itself prove that its terms replace the conditions of an earlier transaction. Conversely, an old screenshot may not capture every term or mandatory rule that applies. SEWARD’s current policies preserve mandatory consumer rights rather than defining the law of every location. If the disagreement concerns the enforceability of changed terms or statutory rights, obtain advice appropriate to the buyer’s jurisdiction before treating either version as legally controlling.
