A practical evidence-reading guide for separating solid-blade construction from a replaceable-blade system without inferring the structure from appearance alone.
Start with documented structure, not appearance
A traditional straight-razor outline does not establish whether the visible cutting component is an integral blade or a replaceable consumable held by a carrier. Böker describes its Barberette as combining aspects of its forged straight razors and a safety razor, and says the replaceable-blade model replicates the geometry and size of its forged models. Reasoning: two products can therefore look substantially alike while using different blade systems. This comparison is specific to Böker and does not classify any SEWARD SKU. Nor does “solid blade” imply that every such blade is universally non-removable under every construction.
Look for three separate records
First, identify the razor or main product: its exact model name, SKU, and an explicit construction description. Second, check whether the page separately identifies a blade holder or carrier. Third, look for a separately named replacement consumable and an explicit compatibility statement linking it to the razor.
Feather’s manufacturer page illustrates this separation by listing an Artist Club SR razor with its own identifier, directing readers to Feather Professional Blades as replacements, and separately listing a PB-20 blade product. Reasoning: distinct razor and replacement-blade fields are strong evidence of a replaceable system when the manufacturer expressly connects them. Separate identifiers alone, however, do not prove what a package includes, its price, or compatibility with another brand.
Apply the distinction to a SEWARD page
Classify a SEWARD item as a replaceable-blade holder only when its own page, original instructions, or matching-version physical evidence explicitly documents a holder and the accepted replacement blade. Record the holder model and compatible consumable as separate fields. For a solid-blade listing, record the blade construction and relevant blade specifications stated by that SKU’s evidence; do not infer universal non-removability.
If those records are absent, leave the structure unclassified. Editorially, the page can show a labeled close-up of the blade area and present separate fields for “razor structure,” “holder model,” and “compatible replacement blade.” These presentation methods aid comparison but are not universal technical or legal standards. No Böker or Feather dimensions, materials, pack details, or compatibility claims transfer to SEWARD.
Does a replaceable-looking blade area prove that a SEWARD razor accepts standard blades?
No. Similar appearance is insufficient. The exact SEWARD SKU needs an explicit holder description and a documented compatible consumable.
