Can an Order Cancellation Involve Fees, and Where Should You Confirm Them?

Cancellation costs cannot be determined from the request alone; confirm the seller, order stage, applicable policy, and any itemized charge in writing.

What SEWARD’s current policy establishes

SEWARD’s Refunds and Returns page says cancellation under its commercial policy is possible only before warehouse processing, packing, or shipment. It cannot guarantee that a cancellation request will reach the team before processing begins. The policy does not publish a general cancellation fee, so a customer should not invent a fee or assume that every cancellation is free in every circumstance.

The same policy says shipping costs are not refunded when a normal, correctly shipped item is involved, except where a refund is required by law. That is not the same as announcing a blanket cancellation charge. Statutory cancellation or withdrawal rights may also apply, and the commercial policy expressly does not replace them.

Where to confirm a proposed charge

First verify the actual seller shown on the order confirmation or receipt. If it is SEWARD, compare the order date and current status with the Refunds and Returns page, then contact SEWARD through its official Contact Us page. Include the order number and the email used at checkout.

Ask for a written, itemized explanation of any proposed deduction: its name, amount, currency, reason, policy clause, and how it affects the refund. Also ask whether the order was still awaiting processing, already packed, or already shipped when the cancellation request was received. Do not send full card details or security credentials.

How to handle uncertainty or disagreement

Preserve the order confirmation, policy version or dated screenshot, cancellation request, seller response, payment record, dispatch notice, and refund statement. A request alone does not prove cancellation, and an unexplained deduction does not establish its basis.

Rules from a third-party seller cannot be inferred from SEWARD’s policy. If the seller’s explanation conflicts with the displayed terms or mandatory rights may be involved, seek guidance from an appropriate consumer authority or qualified adviser in your location rather than assuming the charge is lawful or unlawful.
