Choose a pocket knife for a community garden tool lending station with clear records, secure storage, and specifications suited to shared equipment.
Choosing a pocket knife for a community garden tool lending station
A pocket knife for a community garden tool lending station should be easy to log, store, and issue under a consistent policy. Start with the station’s approved activities and the people who may borrow tools. Compare documented size, weight, materials, package contents, and supplier information. Do not treat a catalog description as proof that an item suits every gardening task.
Catalog details to record
The 7096 Titanium Handle Fold Folding Knife is listed at 19.2 cm in total length, with an 8.0 cm blade and a net weight of 60 g. The listing identifies D2 as the blade material and titanium alloy as the handle material. It describes the package as one product in the selected option. These facts can be entered into a station inventory record and checked against the delivered item.
Shared-tool controls that matter
Use a sign-out card or digital log showing the borrower, issue time, return time, and item identifier. Store the item in a secured location that is separate from general child-accessible tools. Give borrowers a short written policy covering approved tasks, supervision, transport, and return expectations. Confirm local rules and the garden’s safeguarding requirements before purchase.
Can this be added to a community garden lending station?
It may be considered after the garden confirms that its listed dimensions and weight fit the station’s storage and policy. Complete local, safeguarding, and risk checks first.
What is the next practical step?
Create a one-page lending policy, compare the listing with the station’s storage plan, and ask the responsible coordinator to approve the purchase before ordering.
