What to Do When a Year on an Old SEWARD Page Conflicts With the Current Introduction

How to preserve and explain conflicting dates until their events, page versions, and official corrections can be verified.

Do not choose the more appealing year

When an old SEWARD page and the current introduction appear to give different years, preserve both records first. Do not select the earlier year because it creates a longer history, or the later year because it appears on the current page. A conflict cannot be resolved responsibly until the event represented by each date is identified.

One year might refer to company registration, another to the first use of a brand name, and another to a website launch or page revision. Those dates can all be accurate while answering different questions. Record the exact wording around each year, the page title, the source URL, and the archived or captured version date.

Compare subjects and versions

Check whether each statement concerns TOP KNIVES LLC, SEWARD, a domain, a product collection, or an individual’s experience. Do not transfer a date from one subject to another. Also compare whether the older page was replaced, corrected, or merely rewritten for a different purpose. A change in marketing language is not automatically a correction of brand history.

The current SEWARD About Us page identifies SEWARD as a knife brand under TOP KNIVES LLC and describes its present collection. That supports the current relationship and positioning. It does not, on its own, authenticate a historical year appearing on an older page or explain why two versions differ.

Publish the discrepancy accurately

Until a dated correction, launch record, or other authoritative historical document resolves the issue, state that different page versions associate different years with potentially different events. Name each event if it can be established; otherwise, say that the intended meaning of the dates remains unconfirmed. Avoid publishing a single brand-age figure calculated from either year.

If later evidence shows that one statement was erroneous, retain a correction note explaining which page version was affected and what the year actually represents. This produces a transparent history while preventing company age, website age, or another timeline from being presented as SEWARD’s brand age.
