A clear explanation of the different functions associated with dealers, agents, and the official SEWARD brand identity.
Three roles with different authority
A dealer or retailer sells products to customers in its own sales channel. Its responsibilities normally concern the transactions it accepts, including the seller information and terms shown at checkout. Selling a brand does not by itself make the dealer part of the brand company or give it authority to make statements for the brand.
An agent acts for another party within a defined mandate. That authority may be limited by territory, product category, customer type, task, or time period. The word agent therefore requires more than self-description: the appointment and its scope must be established before assuming that a third party may negotiate, represent, or commit the brand.
The official brand identity is the source that presents the brand’s own collection, information, and support channels. The SEWARD About page identifies SEWARD as a consumer-facing knife brand under TOP KNIVES LLC. That published relationship is distinct from any third party’s possible sales or representation role.
Authorization must be read narrowly
A company may be allowed to resell products without being appointed as an agent. An agent may represent a business for one purpose without owning the brand or acting as the seller in every transaction. Even an authorized relationship should not be extended beyond the territory, products, channels, activities, and validity period stated in the relevant record.
Logos, product listings, trade show appearances, and shared promotional materials can point to a possible relationship, but they do not define its legal or commercial scope. When authorization has not been confirmed, describe the third party according to what it publicly claims, such as a seller or claimed representative, and leave the authorization question open. To identify who is responsible for a particular purchase, read the seller disclosure and order terms; to establish agency or dealership rights, consult the applicable appointment or authorization material.
