How to document an unauthorized signature-free delivery, verify the service attached to the order, and request an evidence-based investigation from the seller and carrier.
Check what the order actually required
A signature-free delivery status does not by itself prove whether the parcel was handled correctly. First, review the order confirmation, checkout record, shipping option, delivery preferences, and any later messages about the address or delivery method. Look specifically for a signature service, an authorization to leave the parcel unattended, or a preference recorded by the seller or carrier. Do not assume that standard delivery automatically included a signature. SEWARD’s Shipping & Delivery page identifies its standard arrangement as postal small-parcel delivery, but it does not state that every eligible parcel requires a signature.
Preserve the conflicting records
Save screenshots of the tracking timeline, the exact delivery wording, the delivery time, and any photograph, signature image, location note, or GPS-related information made available by the carrier. Also retain the original address, order confirmation, and your account’s delivery preferences. Write a short factual statement that you did not authorize a signature waiver and explain whether the parcel was found, left somewhere unexpected, or remains missing. If there is packaging or a parcel label, keep it while the delivery is being checked.
Ask for a documented investigation
Contact the actual seller and the carrier rather than relying only on the tracking label. Ask which delivery service was purchased, whether a signature was required, what waiver or instruction was recorded, when it was created, and what proof of delivery exists. If the order was placed directly with SEWARD, its Contact Us page asks order-inquiry customers to provide the order number and the email used at checkout. A concise request should identify the disputed status and attach the records that conflict with it. If another marketplace or seller accepted the order, follow that seller’s dispute process as well.
Treat the outcome as unresolved until the records are reviewed
An unauthorized waiver allegation does not automatically establish loss, carrier fault, or entitlement to a refund. The result depends on the original service, delivery evidence, buyer account, and applicable seller and carrier procedures. Ask for the investigation result in writing and preserve any case numbers, deadlines, and responses. If the seller and carrier give inconsistent explanations, request clarification against the original order record rather than accepting a generic delivered status as the complete answer.
Does a signature-free tracking status guarantee a refund?
No. It is a reason to request an investigation, but any remedy depends on the original delivery service, proof of delivery, seller policy, carrier procedure, and the facts of the order.
