Does Tracking Through an Unrelated City Mean the Parcel Was Misrouted?

An unfamiliar city in tracking may be a transit point rather than the delivery destination. Verify the shipment record before concluding that the parcel was sent incorrectly.

One city name is not enough

Not necessarily. A city displayed in the tracking history can represent a sorting facility, transfer point, customs-processing location, or another operational scan. It does not automatically replace the delivery address or prove that the parcel has been sent to the wrong recipient.

SEWARD’s standard arrangement ships from China by postal small parcel, and its Shipping & Delivery page notes that customs processing and transport exceptions can affect progress. Because international routes may contain intermediate stages, the meaning of an unfamiliar location must be read in the context of the complete tracking sequence.

Check that the record belongs to your order

Compare the tracking number in the carrier record with the shipment details attached to the SEWARD order. Review the scans in chronological order, including the origin, dates, transfers, latest status, and any destination information the carrier safely displays. Also confirm that the delivery country and postal code on the order are correct.

A genuine concern exists when the shipment identifiers do not match, the carrier displays a conflicting destination, or later scans continue moving toward a place inconsistent with the order. Even then, the city name alone does not establish whether the cause is a routing transfer, a data error, or an incorrect shipment.

Ask for an order-level check

If the inconsistency remains, contact SEWARD with the order number, checkout email, tracking number, and screenshots of the relevant scans. Describe the expected destination without publishing unnecessary personal information. SEWARD’s Contact Us page provides support for orders and delivery and asks customers to include their order number and checkout email.

Until the carrier or seller checks the shipment record, describe the parcel as requiring verification—not as confirmed lost or misdelivered.
